My Story
Jo Hallett

Originally from the UK where I trained as a Forensic Psychologist, I moved to NZ in 2008 to deliver group therapy in a Corrections setting. I have extensive experience in psychological assessment and therapy (1-1 & groups), risk assessment/management, professional supervision and training, and providing advisory and consultation services with multidisciplinary teams, including prison, probation and programme delivery staff.

I am trained in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and mindfulness. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based with therapy tailored to suit individual needs.

I'm a strong believer in lifestyle balance, so when I'm not working, I like to be active, either hiking in the bush or by the ocean, or out in the garden.
